A Chartered Accountant and Tax Agent, Keith grew up on a farm at Guyra and has worked primarily with primary production clients in regional Australia. Having relocated to Toowoomba in 2008, Keith founded Calibre Accountants in 2009 before seeking to expand his offering to provide greater support to his clients.
Keith has a wealth of experience assisting businesses, but his passion truly lies in forming deep relationships with his clients. It’s these relationships that allow Keith to truly dig into a business’s unique needs and challenges, and tailor accounting services and business solutions to help them reach their goals.
Keith’s speciality is providing expert advice to our clients far beyond traditional accounting. He helps clients with a range of matters such as strategic growth and development, business improvement, business management, succession, and tax optimisation.
Keith has a forthright, straightforward style, providing simple and logical advice, in even the most complex of matters.

As the Practice Manager, Teah plays a a pivotal role in driving our firm’s operations ensuring that we continue to deliver high-quality services to our clients.
Teah holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resource Management from University of Southern Queensland and is a professional member (MAHRI) of the Australian HR Institute.
With a deep understanding of both business operations and people management, Teah enjoys identifying opportunities for process improvement with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency and growth.
Teah also works closely with our clients on HR matters, providing assistance, support and advice on how to best manage their people and workplace processes.
Passionate about fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment, Teah is dedicated to driving the firm’s success while prioritising the needs and growth of both our clients and team members.
Jan-Willem Bakker

Jan is a dedicated professional with a strong focus on people and client relationships. His commitment to providing equal priority to everyone is demonstrated through his attention to detail and client support. After graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting), Jan gained valuable experience in Tax Compliance and Business Advisory at a leading public practice firm in Brisbane.
Now based in his hometown of Toowoomba, Jan is passionate about supporting clients with accounting information and training. His extensive experience across various industries has provided him with a solid understanding of the challenges business owners face, as he strives to bridge knowledge gaps through proactive solutions. Jan is currently working towards obtaining his Chartered Accountant qualification.
Outside of work, Jan remains active as sports participant and a high-level volleyball coach, further honing his communication and people skills.
Emily Rogers
Accountant
Emily has held several different positions before deciding to become an Accountant. Working in retail and then communications and IT with a focus in administration and risk management. Even running her own wedding planning and event management business, so she understands both sides of the table.
She holds a Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business (Property) along with a Graduate Certificate in Business Consulting and is a CPA associate. She loves having real conversations with her clients and being the trusted person they turn to. Emily has a passion for bringing clarity to financial complexities and jargon, acting as a trusted ally for her clients.
Outside of the office, she is devotedly raising her two children with her shift working husband, so understand the time juggle of life. You’ll find her on the side of a football field (soccer) cheering on her son, or in the audience supporting her daughter on the stage, so she’s ready to be a supporter for your financial future.
Rhema Mahler

With nearly a decade of experience in the accounting industry, Rhema Mahler brings a blend of technical expertise and a genuine passion for problem-solving to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Southern Queensland and is a proud CPA member.
Rhema is dedicated to making a positive difference for her clients, helping them navigate financial challenges with clarity and confidence. Known for her approachable, solutions-focused mindset, she is equally committed to supporting the team with practical solutions. Outside of work, Rhema treasures time with her young family, often exploring new places and creating memorable experiences together. Whether at work or at play, Rhema believes in making each moment count.

With over 30 years’ experience in leadership roles in the financial services industry, John has worked in all areas of business from advising micro companies, through to senior management positions in a listed company. While working as CEO of a large local firm, John oversaw its transformation from a regional partnership to the largest listed accounting group in Australia.
This experience has given John valuable insights into what makes businesses thrive and what areas to focus on to be successful.
John also has leadership roles in other major local organisations. He’s a director at the TSBE as well as several other private national and international companies.
John has a direct and engaging manner, taking a simple and straightforward advising role.
Hendrik Van Aswegen

Hendrik graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting. His internship experience honed his financial skills and solidified his commitment to a business career. Hendrik has a strong foundation in accounting and a passion for supporting family-run businesses with a focus on growth and sustainability. Outside of work, he enjoys camping and traveling, finding balance in the outdoors.
Cheryl Searchfield
Client Services Officer
Cheryl has a background in hospitality and a passion for connecting with people. She’s dedicated to building strong, lasting relationships with our clients, always greeting them with a smile, a cup of coffee and a friendly conversation. Cheryl has recently become a Qualified Justice of the Peace and is enjoying putting her new skills to use in the office.
She enjoys learning and is always on the look out for a new hobby to try. Her greatest achievements are her three children, and she spends her free time with them and her husband-camping, riding trailbikes or relaxing around the fire. Her friendly nature and genuine care for others make her a valued part of our team.
